Verse of the Day

Psalm 9:9

The Lord is a shelter for the oppressed, a refuge in times of trouble.

Psalm 9:9

The Lord is My Shelter

Dictionary.com describes a shelter as “something beneath, behind, or within which a person, animal, or thing is protected from storms, missiles, adverse conditions, etc.; refuge.” Think of a structure that provides shelter in the middle of a storm whether that is a house or building. The rain may pour all around, but the shelter provides safety. What a picture of what God does for us. Every one of us has been broken-hearted at some point, but in Him we can find safety from the enemy’s attacks. HE is our refuge. HE is the only one who restores. In Him we find our hope for a brighter tomorrow. In Him we find our refuge because HE is the God who saves and makes all things new.

May you find shelter in the God of the Universe today. May you find hope in His love, peace in His arms, and safety in His shelter.

A Prayer to Remember

Dear Lord,
You are my shelter. You are my rescuer. You are my strength. May I find hope in you everyday and share that hope with the people around me. Thank you for saving me. Amen.
