This is the one that went out this morning.
He has made everything beautiful in its time. He has also set eternity in the human heart; yet no one can fathom what God has done from beginning to end.
Ecclesiastes 3:11 (NIV)
Ecclesiastes 3:11 says God set eternity in the human heart, yet no one can fathom his work from beginning to end. Trusting him with the middle.
What arrives, and what never does.
Every morning
- One reading, at six
- A verse, then a few lines about it
- A short prayer at the end
Never
- A second email the same day
- Anything for sale
- Your address in anybody else’s hands
There is a link at the bottom of every one that takes you off, in one click, from every list at once. You are never asked why.
Who is writing to you
My name is Thomas. I am an elder at a non-denominational church, and I have sat with people through the worst weeks of their lives for fifteen years without ever charging for it. I write these because scripture keeps saying something to me on ordinary mornings, and because I spent a long stretch of my life hearing nothing at all.
Tomorrow’s goes out at six.
If you are on the list by then, it comes to you. Either way tomorrow morning is going to happen, and this is one way of not meeting it cold.
