Who has God put in front of you lately?
Paul’s instruction is simple: “As we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, especially to those who belong to the family of believers.” Opportunity usually looks ordinary. A neighbor needs a ride to the doctor. There’s a name on the prayer list you could actually call.
Paul had just warned the churches in Galatia against biting and devouring one another, and he still tells them to look after each other first. The people in your own church can be the hardest to be patient with, and they’re the ones he puts at the front of the line.
A phone call is enough to start.
A Prayer to Remember
Father, I lift up the people in my church who are having a hard time, especially the ones I find hard to love. Show me one good thing I can do for one of them, and don’t let me put it off.
In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.
