Verse of the Day

Micah 6:8

No, O people, the Lord has told you what is good, and this is what he requires of you: to do what is right, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God.

Micah 6:8

A Righteous Life

God longs for His people to do what is right and love righteousness. We must choose righteousness when we are faced with the temptation to sin. We judge the difference between right and wrong based on the Bible. It is our moral compass. We should cling to what is right and good. We should also love mercy. says that mercy is “compassionate or kindly forbearance shown toward an offender, an enemy, or other person in one’s power; compassion, pity, or benevolence.” This is much easier to do for people who are easy to love. It is much harder to do for our enemies or someone who has offended us. Only the power of God can help us love mercy.

Last, walk humbly with God. Give Him thanks for everything He has done and what he is about to do. Living a righteous life is the best kind of life and the most fulfilling kind of life.

A Prayer to Remember

Dear Lord,
Help me live a righteous life. May I cling to what is good, do what is right, love mercy, and walk humbly with you every single day. Amen.
