1 Chronicles 16:24

Declare his glory among the nations, his marvelous deeds among all peoples.

1 Chronicles 16:24

Declare His Name

God proclaims His glory and who He is everyday in many ways. The beauty He has placed in the world through the sunrise and sunsets and the gorgeous landscapes declare the work of His hands. The kind word of a friend, the servant heart of the church, and the believers meeting to study His Word proclaim God’s work in the lives of man. All of these things show His glory and what He’s doing in the world.

Do you thank God for His marvelous deeds and the many ways He’s shown Himself in your life? Thank Him for the people in your life who declare His goodness and for the works of His hands that proclaim His glory today.

A Prayer to Remember

Dear Lord,
You show your glory through the works of your hands and the lives of your people. Thank you for declaring your glory in my life. Amen

Isaiah 52:7

How beautiful on the mountains are the feet of those who bring good news, who proclaim peace, who bring good tidings, who proclaim salvation, who say to Zion, “Your God reigns!”

Isaiah 52:7

Bringing Good News

The world needs missionaries. We need people who feel called to bring the gospel to the world, whether that’s a remote country, a war-torn country, or places where the gospel is not as welcome. The gospel is as necessary to these places as food, water, and other survival resources. It is a beautiful thing when the gospel spreads throughout a nation simply because people feel called to bring the name of the Lord to that nation.

What about you? How can you participate in the missionary work around the world? Pray and seek the Lord’s will for you. He may be calling you to a greater work beyond yourself. He may be calling you to mission work. Or maybe He wants you to go before His throne in prayer and supplication on behalf of the many missionaries around the world.

A Prayer to Remember

Dear Lord,

Thank you for sending your people to the nations. Show me how you want me to participate and how I can be a part of what you’re doing. Amen

Colossians 1:28–29

Him we proclaim, warning everyone and teaching everyone with all wisdom, that we may present everyone mature in Christ. For this I toil, struggling with all his energy that he powerfully works within me.

Colossians 1:28–29

We Are All Teachers

Discipleship is one of the most important parts of the Christian life and especially important in churches; however, it is often neglected. Many new believers struggle to connect and grow in the Lord on their own. When we come alongside them and help train them up in the Lord, they will grow into a mature believer.

Think about how a tree grows. It must first be planted, which is what happens when someone comes to know the Lord; the gospel is planted into their heart and life. Then, they begin to grow when they receive the nutrients and resources they need. We are the ones who will point them to Jesus, so we need to invest in their spiritual lives. Maybe you are someone who needs to grow. Seek out other believers to help you grow in the Lord. Maybe you’ve been a believer for a while. Search for new believers you can teach and help grow.

A Prayer to Remember

Dear Lord,

Thank you for growing me as a believer. Please continue to put people in my life to help me grow closer to you. Help me seek out people who I can help as well.

James 1:3

Dear brothers and sisters, when troubles of any kind come your way, consider it an opportunity for great joy. For you know that when your faith is tested, your endurance has a chance to grow.

James 1:3

Faith Produces Perseverance

Trials and tragedies tend to shape our lives. When we are faced with troubles we either buckle under the pressure or we rise to the occasion. We either reject the Lord or trust in Him. We do not live in a perfect world which means that our faith will be tested. We can decide ahead of time how we will react when that time comes. So how can we consider troubles a joy?

Try looking at the purpose behind the trial. Is there something you can learn from the situation? Is God trying to teach you something? Look at your relationship with the Lord. How is it strengthened when you go through trials? Try to find the good in every situation. This is not always easy, but God always works for the good of those who love Him (Romans 8:28) so there will always be good to find.

A Prayer to Remember

Dear Lord,

Help me to see why I am going through the trials in my life. Help me to see any good that you are doing. Amen

Romans 10:14–17

How then will they call on him in whom they have not believed? And how are they to believe in him of whom they have never heard? And how are they to hear without someone preaching? And how are they to preach unless they are sent? As it is written, “How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the good news!” But they have not all obeyed the gospel. For Isaiah says, “Lord, who has believed what he has heard from us?” So faith comes from hearing, and hearing through the word of Christ.

Romans 10:14–17

Hearing the Word of Christ

It’s hard to imagine that there are people out there who have never heard the gospel. We tend to think that they live in remote villages. While some do, there are many people who live in our country, city, and even community who have never heard the good news about Jesus. There are people who work with you and maybe even people who live with you who do not know Jesus the way you know Him. They will never know until Christians start accepting the call of God for the cause of Christ. Your loved ones will never know until you start saying yes to the call!

Faith will only come from hearing the word of God. Most of the time our silence comes from fear of being rejected. So what are you going to do today to accept the call and tell your loved ones about the greatest thing that has ever happened to you?

A Prayer to Remember

Dear Lord,
May I be your hands and feet. Give me courage to bring your Word to the nations. Amen.

John 13:34–35

A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another: just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another. By this all people will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.”

John 13:34–35

Love One Another

The greatest way we can show our love and devotion to Christ is the way we treat others. We will be known as His disciples when we love the world around us. It is easy to love our friends and the people we choose to be in our lives. It is not easy to love those we feel are “unlovable” or those who have hurt us. But Jesus does not say just to love those we want to love in this verse. He says: love one another.

We were created to love and be loved. God Himself sent us Jesus, His Son, to show His love and devotion to us. He is the teacher of love. So even when you are not sure how to love someone who has wronged you, He has given Himself as an example to show you how to love.

A Prayer to Remember

Dear Lord,

Thank you for loving me even when I didn’t deserve it. You are the giver of love. Help me to love others with that kind of love. Amen.

2 Timothy 2:1-2

You then, my child, be strengthened by the grace that is in Christ Jesus, and what you have heard from me in the presence of many witnesses entrust to faithful men, who will be able to teach others also.

2 Timothy 2:1-2

Be Strengthened

Something powerful happens when we are in the presence of other believers. The Bible says that where three or more are gathered, there He is also. He is in our midst when we join in fellowship with our Christian brothers and sisters. In other words, we need each other. We can’t get by without each other. Some people try to do life on their own. They think that they don’t need church. However, living without the fellowship of believers is like living in a desert. It is dry and you won’t find nourishment. When we come together, we help nourish each other. We help each other grow in the Lord. This is one reason why discipleship is so important. We will grow when we pour into others.

Evaluate how you spend your time. Do you make time for other believers? Do you fellowship and join the body of Christ? Or are you trying to make it on your own? Spend some time in prayer for your Christian brothers and sisters today.

A Prayer to Remember

Dear Lord,
Thank you for placing other believers in my life. Open me up to fellowship with them so I can continue to grow in you. Amen

James 1:6

But when you ask him, be sure that your faith is in God alone. Do not waver, for a person with divided loyalty is as unsettled as a wave of the sea that is blown and tossed by the wind.

James 1:6

Tossed like the Sea

We all have doubts from time to time. The real test is what we do with those doubts. Do you surrender your doubts over to the Lord and put your trust in Him? Or do you allow your doubts to knock you over and toss you about like the waves in the sea? God wants us to place our hope in Him and believe Him instead of the doubts and worries that come into our lives.

Seek the Lord when you begin to feel the doubts in your heart wash over you. Trust that He will rescue you and help you grow closer to Him. When you spend time studying the Word and praying, you will find yourself doubting less and less!

A Prayer to Remember

Dear Lord,

You, oh Lord, are my rescuer and I put my trust and belief in you. Help me believe you when you say I can trust in you. Amen

Psalm 143:8

Let me hear of your unfailing love each morning, for I am trusting you. Show me where to walk, for I give myself to you.

Psalm 143:8

To You I Entrust My Life

Who in your life do you trust? What do you trust? Do you trust a car to take you from place to place? Do you trust a building to stay standing when you enter it? Do you trust your family to love and take care of you? Do you trust your friends to spend time with you? Do you trust your employer to respect you? We place our trust in people and things every day. Sometimes we trust easily and other times it is harder to trust. If you have experienced trauma in your life, you may find it harder to trust others. What about God? Do you find it easy to trust Him or difficult?

David placed his trust in the Lord daily. He trusted Him to be His protector when he went up against Goliath. He trusted God to go with him when King Saul was pursuing him and wanted to kill him. He trusted God to provide for him while hiding from Saul. He trusted God after he committed adultery and murder. He trusted that God would love him even after he showed his sinful nature and defied who God had created Him to be. For this, God called him a man after His own heart.

God is trustworthy. His love is unfailing every single moment of the day. He will lead you and guide you if you place your trust in Him.

A Prayer to Remember

Dear Lord,

I trust you. You are trustworthy and so good. I trust that you will lead me and guide me. You will never fail me. May I live my life trusting you every day. Amen

Mark 10:9

“…let no one split apart what God has joined together.”

Mark 10:9

Let No Man Separate

This verse is something you hear at many weddings, yet so many people allow things to come between them whether that’s feelings and emotions, decisions, family members, friends, experiences, etc. So the question is, when you hear this verse, do you believe it? Do you truly believe that nothing can come between you and your spouse? Do you believe that God joined you together? Do you truly trust Him to keep your marriage together? While it is true that it takes two people to make a marriage work, it also takes two people believing in a God who can do the impossible! To make your marriage work, you have to believe that divorce is not an option and that He will keep you together if you both submit to Him and trust Him.

Look to Him as the glue that holds your marriage together and you will never be disappointed. He will guide you and your spouse closer to each other and especially closer to Him. When you both pursue Him, you will find yourselves pursuing the type of marriage He created for you.

A Prayer to Remember

Dear Lord,

You are the one who created marriage to be a blessing, so I know that if I pursue you, you will show me how to be a better partner in my marriage. Amen
