Revelation 21: 3

I heard a loud shout from the throne, saying, “Look, God’s home is now among his people! He will live with them, and they will be his people. God himself will be with them.

Revelation 21: 3

God’s Home

Think about that for just a minute. God left his home in heaven, and came down to make it among his people. He lived in human form and walked and topped with his people. Who else can say that About their God? This tells us so much about God the father. He loved His children so much that He created the world we live in and then came down to earth as Jesus Christ, Son of God. He understands everything we struggle with because he walked and talked with man as a man. What comfort that He not only walked this earth with man, but He made a home among us! So we have the promise that He will be with us.

So the next time you are weary or discouraged, remember that He is among us. He walks with you and talks with you. You can reach out to Him anytime.

A Prayer to Remember

Dear Lord,
I praise you because you are a God who is among His people. You understand our hurts and our struggles. You understand our desires and what is in our hearts. Thank you. Amen

Philippians 4:14

I press on to reach the end of the race and receive the heavenly prize for which God, through Christ Jesus, is calling us.

Philippians 4:14

Press on Toward the Goal

The Christian life is like a race. The runner continuously runs in order to receive the prize at the end. At times the runner becomes weary and slows down. other times the runner because inspired and sprint. The prize at the end is worth more than any prize in this world: an eternity with the king himself. So Paul says not to look back when running in the previous verse because when you look back, you can’t focus on the race before you. This can cause you to stumble and fall.

Invest in the race. Press on toward the goal. Keep your eyes focused on Jesus Christ. He is the only one who can help you run this great race. The prize is better than anything the world can ever offer. An eternity with God the Father is the prize. Heaven is the prize. Worshipping around the throne is the prize.

A Prayer to Remember

Dear Lord,
Thank you for the race. Thank you for giving me a race to run in. I know this Christian life and the reward is better than I can imagine. Amen.

Philippians 3:13

No, dear brothers and sisters, I have not achieved it, but I focus on this one thing: Forgetting the past and looking forward to what lies ahead…

Philippians 3:13

Forgetting What is Behind

There was no one who knew the truth of this verse more than Paul himself, the writer of Philippians. He knew what it meant to not focus on the past, but instead look forward to the future. God had forgiven his sinful past. The God of heaven had touched Him and changed His entire life. He had been an enemy of God and persecuted Christians. When he experienced the salvation of Jesus Christ, He turned from his old life and ways immediately. He quit looking at the past and instead focuses on the future.

What do you need to turn from the past and focus on your future with Christ? What do you need to do to allow Him to be in control of your life? When you only see the past, you cannot see what is in front of you. When you focus on the future, then you can see all that God is doing and you don’t miss out on the work He is doing and the blessings around you.

A Prayer to Remember

Dear Lord,
Help me focus on the future and what you are doing in my life rather than being bound by the past. Help me break the chains my past has on me. Amen.

Luke 7:47

I tell you, her sins – and they are many – have been forgiven, so she has shown me much love. But a person who is forgiven little shows only little love.

Luke 7:47

Forgiving Many Sins

In this passage, Jesus goes to eat dinner at the home of a Pharisee. While there a sinful woman wept at His feet and broke an alabaster jar of expensive perfume at His feet. The Pharisee thought this was foolish and criticized her for wasting the jar. Jesus saw her in a different light. He said that while she has many sense, her love for the Lord exceeds those sins. The Pharisee had a little love for this woman which is why what she did didn’t make any sense. He could only see with human eyes.

We must see others with the eyes of Jesus. We must see them with the kind of love that Jesus had for this woman. Otherwise we will see acts of love as foolishness, just like the Pharisees. Her sins were forgiven because of her heart. What about you? Open your heart today to the love of Christ, and you will experience forgiveness as this woman did.

A Prayer to Remember

Dear Lord,
You have forgiven my many sins. May I see others as you see them, and have a love that goes beyond comprehension. Thank you for your forgiveness. Amen.

Ecclesiastes 3:11

Yet God has made everything beautiful for its own time. He has planted eternity in the human heart, but even so, people cannot see the whole scope of God’s work from beginning to end

Ecclesiastes 3:11

Beginning to End

God has given every person the same opportunity to choose eternity. This verse says that He planted eternity in the heart of man. What hope man has! He longs for man to want and desire and eternity with Himself. When a seed is planted in the ground, it grows because it receives the nutrients it needs. What a beautiful example of what God does in the heart of man. He plants eternity in the heart of man. When man turns toward God, he allows the Creator to water his heart and give him the nutrients he needs to live a godly life.

The God of the Universe planted eternity in your heart from the moment you were born. Have you allowed Him to grow your heart and give you the nutrients you need to live a godly life with Him as Lord of your life? Turn toward Him today to give you everything you need to serve Him!

A Prayer to Remember

Dear Lord,
You are the Lord of my heart. Help me live for you everyday and trust that you know what is best for me. Thank you for planting eternity in my heart from birth. May I allow you to nurture and grow me. Amen.

1 Peter 1:5

All praise to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. It is by his great mercy that we have been born again, because God raised Jesus Christ from the dead. Now we live with great expectation

1 Peter 1:5

New Beginnings, New Life

God‘s salvation comes from his mercy. He raised Jesus Christ from the dead so that he might give us life as well. We did not deserve his mercy or salvation, but yet he’s so freely gave it. In fact, it doesn’t cost us anything, but it cost him everything. Have you ever known someone to give without any expectation in return? Maybe they spent a lot of money to get you something really nice. The gift God gave when he sent his son to earth to die on the cross there’s more than anything we could ever imagine. It was not a decision that was taken lately. He purchased us with the blood of his son, the perfect sacrifice.

Have you made the decision to follow him today? Have you accepted his gift of salvation? Do you live as though you have been given something you could never repay? Take some time today to really thank him for the gift of his son and evaluate your life and if you are living as though you are thankful for that great gift.

A Prayer to Remember

Dear God,
Thank you for all of your salvation. Thank you for life mercy. I can never repay you. I know that your love goes beyond all of my wildest expectations. Amen.

Galatians 6:1

Dear brothers and sisters, if another believer is overcome by some sin, you who are godly should gently and humbly help that person back onto the right path. And be careful not to fall into the same temptation yourself.

Galatians 6:1

Restore What is Broken

Have you ever had a friend struggle with sin? You watched from the outside and wished that there was a way you could help him/her? Well this verse gives us advice for helping someone like that and also a warning. Go to your friend and gently and humbly help that person back on the right path. How can you do this? Well, first, pray for your friend. Pray that God would give you an opportunity to approach your friend with gentleness and humility. The more we invest in a relationship, the better chance we will have confronting others when they are living in sin. When you have the opportunity, make sure you speak with gentleness so your friend understands that you care about them as much as the Lord does.

This verse also issues a warning: do not fall into the same temptation as your friend. When you are trying to speak with your friend, make sure you are standing on a firm foundation. Your relationship with God should be solid so you won’t be tempted toward the same things that they are. God’s presence will be with you as you confront your friend.

A Prayer to Remember

Dear Lord,
I pray for my friends who are entangled in sin. Give me opportunities to speak to them and help them seek you. Amen

Romans 6: 6-7

We know that our old sinful selves were crucified with Christ so that sin might lose its power in our lives. We are no longer slaves to sin. For when we died with Christ we were set free from the power of sin.

Romans 6: 6-7

Free From Sin

When Jesus died on the cross, He crucified every one of our sins. He crucified our past sins that try to cling so tightly to us. He crucified our current struggles. He crucified our future sins. Our sinful lives and our old selves died with Christ, so it lost its power over us. We are no longer slaves to sin. It has no power or authority over us. When Christ died on the cross, we died with Him and gained freedom from the sin in our lives.

So do you live as though you are free from sin? Or do you live like you are still a slave to it? Sin will creep up on you least expect it. You just live in the blessing of the cross because Christ crucified your sins once and for all.

A Prayer to Remember

Dear Lord,
You have crucified my sins so that I might not live in slavery any longer, but in your freedom. Thank you for freeing me from my sins and strongholds. Amen

2 Corinthians 5:14-15

Either way, Christ’s love controls us. Since we believe that Christ died for all, we also believe that we have all died to our old life. He died for everyone so that those who receive his new life will no longer live for themselves. Instead, they will live for Christ, who died and was raised for them.

2 Corinthians 5:14-15

Live for Him

What is it that controls you? Are you controlled by your actions, your thoughts, your words? Are you controlled by your sin? Or are you controlled by your beliefs? This verse says that love controls us. When we live our lives through love, for love l, and with love, our decisions and actions will come out of all of that love. In our old lives, we were not controlled by love, but by our sinful natures. The new life is controlled by God and his love. He is the source that we are connected to.

Christ died so that we might find our new life in Him. If you know Him, follow Him, and love Him, then you will no longer live in your sinful nature, but in your new life. You will live for Christ and your new life in Him. He was raised in new life so that we might be raised with Him.

A Prayer to Remember

Dear Lord,
Thank you for your new life. Help me remember every day that you gave up your life out of your love for me and so that I might live for you. Amen

1 Thessalonians 4:14

For since we believe that Jesus died and was raised to life again, we also believe that when Jesus returns, God will bring back with him the believers who have died.

1 Thessalonians 4:14

Raised to Life

The greatest hope we have as Christians is that when the physical life is over, our spiritual life will not be over. When we close our eyes in this life, we will awaken in the next. Heaven and eternal life with Jesus is our promise for believing and following Him. The other part of that promos is that anyone we know and love that believes and follows Him will also rise in Him.

How incredible to think that God is preparing a place for us to spend eternity with Him! This should give us great hope. It makes living this life completely different. It gives hope in this life and should give you a new purpose. Live as though this isn’t your home. You are simply walking through this life to enter the next. However, it makes living this life so important. God wants you to bring as many people with you as you can! You need to share the good news so others will share eternity with you!

A Prayer to Remember

Dear Lord,
Thank you for preparing a place for me to live with you forever. You are so good and give me hope every day knowing that there is more to this life. Amen
