Psalm 37:5

Commit everything you do to the Lord. Trust him, and he will help you.

Psalm 37:5

Commit Your Way to the Lord

In this life, we commit to many things. We commit time devoted to our friends and families. We commit time to our work. We want to get the promotion, do the best job we can do. We commit time to our children, taking them to activities and investing in what they love. We devote time to church and even helping the community. None of these things are bad things. However, if they do not have the Lord in them, they are meaningless.

When we commit our way to the Lord and trust that He will work for our good, He will help us and care for us. We have to commit ourselves to Him and His work. He will bless us when we do that. This verse says to commit everything to Him. You will find great reward when you commit yourself to Him.

A Prayer to Remember

Dear Lord,
You are trustworthy and worthy of my praise. I can commit my way to you and know that you will help me and care for me. May I commit myself to you everyday.

Psalm 145:7

Everyone will share the story of your wonderful goodness; they will sing with joy about your righteousness.

Psalm 145:7

Share Your Story

Sharing your story is one of the most powerful ways to witness to those around you. When you share your story, others are exposed to what God has done in your life and how good God really is. They can see the ways He has brought about joy, peace, and faith in your life, whether that was waiting in the midst of unanswered prayers, comfort after a loss, or healing a broken relationship. When you have experienced the love of Christ, you will want to share your story just like this Psalmist!

Does this describe you? If it doesn’t then start to pray and ask God to move in your life. Then look for the little ways He is moving. It could be just the sunset He paints every morning. Or the kindness of a friend. When you search for Him, you will find Him.

A Prayer to Remember

Dear Lord,
Please move in my life! May I find you every morning and feel your presence throughout the day. Amen.

Psalm 143:8

Let me hear of your unfailing love each morning, for I am trusting you. Show me where to walk, for I give myself to you.

Psalm 143:8

Love, Trust, and Provision

In this life we will be disappointed by those we love, those we work with, and many others. So it is important to not put our faith and trust in people, but rather trust in the Lord. He is the only one who never fails. It is not in his nature to be untrustworthy. In this verse, the Psalmist is boasting of the Lord‘s faithfulness and how trustworthy he is. He is sane that God is the only one who gives unfailing love, and not only that, but his love comes every morning. It never stops. He is putting his trust fully in the Lord knowing that God will not feel him. He is also trusting that God will show him how to walk through this life. He says show me where to walk. Show me how to live this life and how to glorify him. He is committing himself fully to the Lord by saying I give myself to you.

Have you done this? Have you given yourself fully to the Lord, knowing that he is trustworthy and loving? Spend some time in prayer today committing yourself to following the Lord.

A Prayer to Remember

Dear Lord,
You are so loving and faithful. You never fail me. You are trustworthy. I will put my hope in you. Amen.

Psalm 86:13

for your love for me is very great. You have rescued me from the depths of death.

Psalm 86:13

Everlasting Love

God’s love is so great; there is nothing in this world that can compare. As humans, we only understand human love which is temporary and conditional. But God’s love is so much more than this. His love is everlasting. It reaches beyond this life and into eternity. It is unconditional. He loves you no matter what you have done. He does not see the past once you have accepted His gift of salvation. He loves you despite what you have done.

It is impossible for us to really love others this way unless we first love God. He is the source of our love and we must be connected to Him so that we can love the way He loves. We only know how to love because He first loved us. His love is so great.

A Prayer to Remember

Dear Lord,
I love you with everything in me. May I love others the way you love me. May I find myself wrapped in your love everyday. Amen.

1 Corinthians 10:31

So whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God.

1 Corinthians 10:31

Do Everything for Him

May everything you do be for the Lord. When you wake up in the morning, May you remember Him and His goodness. When you go throughout your day and make decisions, May you remember how He has been gracious to you. When you see someone at work or about, May your words bring the kindness of God.

Live your life in such a way as to radiate His glory. You are His hands and feet. You can speak truth into the hearts of those who don’t know Him. You can show grace and mercy to the broken. Spend some time today committing to the Lord.

A Prayer to Remember

Dear Lord,
I want to commit everything I do to you. My life is yours. Amen.

Romans 14:13

So let’s stop condemning each other. Decide instead to live in such a way that you will not cause another believer to stumble and fall.

Romans 14:13

Do Not Condemn

As Christians, our job is not to condemn each other. Judging one another would imply that we are better than the person we are judging, and that is simply not true. The Bible says there is no one righteous, no not one. We are all sinful. If we judge someone, then we are pointing out the speck in their eyes when there is a plank in our own. So we must not point out each other’s flaws.

Instead, work on your own flaws. Make yourself better. Spend time with the Lord and really ask Him what He would have you do and how you can encourage others. When you see people through the eyes of Jesus, you will be able to love and encourage them instead of judging them.

A Prayer to Remember

Dear Lord,
Help me see those around me with your eyes. Help me better myself instead of judging those around me. Amen.

1 Peter 4:2

You won’t spend the rest of your lives chasing your own desires, but you will be anxious to do the will of God.

1 Peter 4:2

Anxious to do His Will

When you are focused on the things of God and his will, you will find so much more joy in life then when you are enthralled with your own pleasures. A life spent glorifying the Lord is a life that will be rewarded not only here on earth but also in heaven. When you spend your life chasing after your own happiness, you will come up empty every time because happiness is only temporary. Especially selfish happiness.

Are you anxious to do the will of God? If you are anxious to do his will, then you will wake up every morning with a renewed purpose, wanting to please only him and not man. The decisions you made and the words you say will all be based on your motivation. If you are only wanting to satisfy your desires, then everything you do will be from that. However, if you allow God to be your motivation, you’ll find joy in serving him continuously.

A Prayer to Remember

Dear Lord,
May I live to please you and you alone. May I not focus on my own desires, but on your will for my life. Amen.

1 Corinthians 6:20

for God bought you with a high price. So you must honor God with your body.

1 Corinthians 6:20

Bought with a Price

God purchased you when He sent His Son to die on the cross, so you should understand that you are not your own. It is similar to being a parent. When you have a child, you

Are no longer responsible for yourself, but you are now in charge of taking care of you and a child. You make sure they have what they need and that you show them love. When the Spirit lives inside of you, you no longer make decisions based on you, but you consider the Lord and what would please Him.

Take some time today to really consider how you are honoring God with your body. Are you treating it as though it is worthless or do you view it as the beautiful temple of the Lord? Are you filling your mind and body with the things that will please the Lord? Know that He will honor and bless you when you begin to see yourself as the temple of God, belonging to God.

A Prayer to Remember

Dear Lord,
Thank you for your salvation that bought and paid the price I was supposed to pay. You paid such a high price with your Son. May I bring you honor and praise all of my days. Amen.

1 Corinthians 6:19

Don’t you realize that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit, who lives in you and was given to you by God? You do not belong to yourself.

1 Corinthians 6:19

Temple of the Holy Spirit

God created you unique. There is no one in this world like you. You have relatives who are similar to you, but not an exact copy. God made His people unique. He is a creative God. He made your body to glorify Him. When you become a Christian, He gives you the Holy Spirit to live in you. That means your body houses the Spirit. It is the new temple. In the Old Testament, the temple was created to house the Spirit of God and only the Priest could enter what was called the “Holiest of Holies,” the innermost room where the Spirit of God lived. Much care was given to the inner temple.

The same can be said of the body. We should care about it and take care of it in such a way that glorifies the Lord. We need to care for the outside by being careful what we do to the body and put in the body, and we should care for the inside by filling our minds with the things of God instead of earthly, temporary things.

A Prayer to Remember

Dear Lord,
I am not my own. I am yours and my body belongs to you. May I always glorify you in what I say and do.

1 Thessalonians 2:12

We pleaded with you, encouraged you, and urged you to live your lives in a way that God would consider worthy. For he called you to share in his Kingdom and glory.

1 Thessalonians 2:12

Your Calling

In the verses before this verse, Paul recalls his visit to the Thessalonians and reminds them of how much he cares for the people. He had previously been to Philippi and had been treated very poorly; he was met with great opposition. So he reassures these people that when he visited them, he was not trying to trick them, but instead, he was sharing the Good News about Jesus and the great things Jesus had done. He was a walking testimony for Jesus, a messenger. He reminds them in this verse how he pleaded with them, encouraged them, and urged them to live a life set apart for God. He reminded them of the calling they had received through Jesus.

We can listen to his reminders as well. God wants us, as Christians, to live a life that is set apart for the Gospel of Christ. Everywhere we go, we should bear the name of Jesus and want to share how He has affected our lives. He has given us a calling to share in His kingdom and glory and to live in that kingdom here on earth. In other words, live like you are saved! Live like you have a greater calling in your life!

A Prayer to Remember

Dear Lord,
Thank you for placing your calling of salvation over my life. You have saved me and set me apart for something greater. May I live a life that is glorifying to you. Amen.
