John
The Gospel that spends the least time on what happened and the most on who Jesus was. John wrote it late, after decades of turning it over. More of the readings here come from the upper room in chapter fourteen than from all the rest of John together. That is the night he told frightened men not to let their hearts be troubled, and then spent the evening explaining why.
