Isaiah
Warning and comfort in the same voice, sometimes in the same chapter. Isaiah sees the worst coming and keeps describing something better on the far side of it. The readings here have settled on the comfort, and more of them come from the suffering servant in chapter fifty-three than from anywhere else in the book.
