A Spirit of Self-Control
Fear and timidity are not qualities that are from the Lord, but from our enemy, the devil. He has placed power, love, and self-discipline in our hearts to help guide us and grow our relationship with him. When you experience fear and timidity, ask God to remind you of the power, love, and self-discipline he has given you.
When you are in a stressful situation, it can be easy to give into fear and to be timid. If you give into fear, it can take over and control you. But when you give into God‘s power, you will see him do amazing things. When you give into his love, you will feel the fear disappear. When you give into self discipline, you will feel his provision over your life. Don’t let fear and timidity rule in your hearts. Let God be in control.
A Prayer to Remember
Dear Lord,
Help me not give into the fear and timidity that the devil wants me to give into. Instead, help me cling to your power, love, and self-discipline. Amen.
