Verse of the Day

2 Timothy 4:8

And now the prize awaits me—the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will give me on the day of his return. And the prize is not just for me but for all who eagerly look forward to his appearing.

2 Timothy 4:8

The Glorification of Believers

One of the great promises of God is that when this life comes to an end, the Christian will be rewarded in heaven. Pauls says in 2 Timothy 4:6-7, “As for me, my life has already been poured out as an offering to God. The time of my death is near. I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, and I have remained faithful.” Paul realized he was nearing the end of his life and would soon see the God he had served for so much of his life. He had given everything as a servant of the Lord. He knew that the prize awaited him in heaven. It was not as if he had earned a place in heaven, but that he would be rewarded for the righteous life he had lived. The glory of the Lord awaited him in heaven. He would see God the Father face to face and worship Him in all of His glory.

As Christians the glory of the Lord and the blessings that await us should bring joy to our lives. There is something better than this world. Someday, we will see Him in all His fullness. Spend some time today praising God for the promises that await.

A Prayer to Remember

Dear Lord,
I can not wait to see you face to face. Thank you for your promises and the blessings that await me in heaven with you. Amen.
