Verse of the Day

Isaiah 7:14

All right then, the Lord himself will give you the sign. Look! The virgin will conceive a child! She will give birth to a son and will call him Immanuel (which means ‘God is with us’).

Isaiah 7:14

God with Us

God had a promise for the world from the moment it began. He knew that man would fail and would need a Savior. He knew that the people would need a Savior. Rather than sending someone to be a physical king, He brought the Savior into the world as a newborn baby boy, born of a virgin. So why would He choose to send Jesus in this way? The answer is in His name: Immanuel; it means “God with us.” If He sent Him as a powerful king, we would never be able to relate to Him. Instead, He sent Him into the world as something we would understand and relate to: a baby. He would live and grow and become the man who would save all who choose Him.

He still lives among us today. He is still the God who is with us. He walks with man. He talks with man. He leads man in the way he should go. He can do the same for you. Take time this Christmas to celebrate the baby born as Immanuel, “God with us.”

A Prayer to Remember

Dear Lord,
Thank you for sending your son Jesus Christ to the earth to save mankind. Thank you for the precious gift you gave us in the form of a baby. Amen
