But they were looking for a better place, a heavenly homeland. That is why God is not ashamed to be called their God, for he has prepared a city for them.

A Better Place
I love this verse because it tells so much about the men and women of faith. Their faith was so great; they were constantly looking forward to heaven and the salvation of Jesus. It was because of that faith that God was not ashamed to be called their God. Even in the midst of their mistakes, He was still proud to be called their God. He was creating a city for them because of their faith.
He has prepared that place for you too if you know Him as your Lord and Savior. No matter what is going on in your life today, trust in Him and look forward to the beautiful city He has prepared for you!
A Prayer to Remember
Dear Lord,
You said that you were going to prepare a place for us. Help me hold on to that hope every single day. May you be proud of my faith as well. Amen.
