But you are not controlled by your sinful nature. You are controlled by the Spirit if you have the Spirit of God living in you. (And remember that those who do not have the Spirit of Christ living in them do not belong to him at all.)

Controlled by the Spirit
If you know Christ and His salvation and are a part of the family of God, then you have the Holy Spirit living inside of you. This means that you are no longer controlled by your sinful nature, but instead controlled by the Spirit of God. Even though the spirit controls you now, there will still be moments when you give in to your sinful nature. Make sure that you are growing in your walk with the Lord so that you can recognize the things of the sinful nature and the things of the spirit nature.
Also, remember that those who do not know Christ are still living in the flesh because they are not part of His family and do not understand the things of God. So be gracious with nonbelievers and live in such a way that can be a witness to them in all things. The spirit will guide you if you allow Him to.
A Prayer to Remember
Dear Lord,
Thank you for the Holy Spirit you have given me to live inside me and guide me. May I be a light to those around me for you, and may I not give in to my sinful flesh. Amen.
