One should be kind to a fainting friend, but you accuse me without any fear of the Almighty.
Job 6:14
A Kind Friend
Job knew sorrow. He had everything taken away from Him. He grieved; yet, He did not falter or lose His faith. He proved to be a man of God. His “friends” came to criticize him and try to convince him that he had a lack of faith. They were not friends at all. They had their own righteousness and selfishness in mind. They did not have Job’s best interest in mind. A true friend sits with you after you get a terrible diagnosis. They call you for no reason, just to chat. They go before the throne of God on your behalf. A godly friend is one who prays for your faith.
Job says in this verse to be kind to a fainting friend. He was that fainting friend and understood the need for this. Are you the fainting friend? Maybe you know a fainting friend who needs encouragement and prayer. Pray to God that you can be a friend to those around you.
A Prayer to Remember
Dear Lord,
I have been that fainting friend before. May I be that friend to someone else. Lord, I want to show the kindness to others that you have shown to me. Amen.
