It was by faith that Noah built a large boat to save his family from the flood. He obeyed God, who warned him about things that had never happened before. By his faith Noah condemned the rest of the world, and he received the righteousness that comes by faith.Hebrews 11:7
By His Faith
Noah is such a beautiful picture of faith. He was not worried about what other people around him thought, only the Lord. By faith he built the boat while others laughed and enjoyed life around him. Yet, he obeyed God because he had a fear of the Lord and knew what He was capable of. God had warned Him about the things He had planned because of His wrath and anger against sin. By faith Noah condemned the sinful actions of the world. He set himself apart for the Lord, and for that, God called him righteous.
The thing about Noah was that he would sin again. Even after doing miraculous things, he would take a situation into his own hands and sin against God. However, he is still mentioned as a man of faith in this chapter. One sin did not define a lifetime of loyalty to God. One sin does not define you and me. Spend some time praying today and asking God to help you stand for Him in a world of corruption.
A Prayer to Remember
Thank you for men like Noah who demonstrated his faith by trusting you and condemning the world. May I be like Noah everyday. Amen.
