Isaiah 55:12

You will live in joy and peace. The mountains and hills will burst into song, and the trees of the field will clap their hands!

Isaiah 55:12

Joy in Your Life

A life with God is a life of joy and peace. Outside of God’s will you will find turmoil, bitterness, depression, and fear. But inside the will of the Lord you will always experience joy and peace. At the moment of salvation, God places His joy and peace deep in your heart so that when you experience times of trouble, pain, or sorrow, joy and peace will be there. That is something that Christians have that is different from the world: his lasting joy and His permanent peace. All the world can offer is temporary and never satisfies.

Sometimes it can be hard to see His joy and peace in the midst of trials. Spend some uninterrupted time in the Word of God. His words will quiet your heart and give you a hope that only He can give. Spend some time today praying and crying out to Him. He will never leave you nor forsake you and will walk with you in this life.

A Prayer to Remember

Dear Lord,
You are my joy. You are my peace. Without you, I have no joy and no peace. It can only be found in you, Oh Lord. May my life be a testimony of the work that you do. Amen.

John 8:24

That is why I said that you will die in your sins; for unless you believe that I am who I claim to be, you will die in your sins.”

John 8:24

Faith in Your Life

Faith is believing. It is believing that an unseen God created everything that was seen. It goes beyond just believing that there is a God. It believes that the God of the Universe sent His Son to walk the earth and love man. It believes that that same God allowed His Son to die for the sins of mankind. It believes that the Son of Man was resurrected and walked the earth again before being caught up to heaven. Faith is believing that God’s forgiveness wipes away sins and gives new life.

However, the opposite of faith is death, an eternal death. Without faith, man dies in his sin and experiences torment forever apart from God. The blessing and gift of faith is eternal life with God the Father, the Creator, the Savior. The curse of denying faith and continuing to live in sin is eternal death. May you instead have the saving faith that gives life!

A Prayer to Remember

Dear Lord,
Increase my faith everyday. Thank you for your salvation and the great gift of eternal life. May my family and friends know the same faith that I know. Amen.

1 Corinthians 13:1

Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I have become sounding brass or a clanging cymbal.

1 Corinthians 13:1

Love in Your Life

Love is the foundation for everything in this world. It does not matter what we do in this life when we do not have love. Love is the evidence that God exists. It is the evidence of a changed life. Most importantly, it is the heartbeat of the Christian life. No matter what the motivation is, if we do something without love, we appear as a clanging cymbal to the rest of the world. In other words, someone who just makes a lot of noise but does not back up their actions.

God‘s love is the opposite. It is not one that makes a lot of noise, but makes a great impact. It is the check from an anonymous giver in the mail that helps someone survive another month. It is the prayers of many when their loved one doesn’t know the Lord or is diagnosed with a terrible disease. God‘s love radiates through his believers.

A Prayer to Remember

Dear Lord,
May my love for you shine bright in this dark world. May I bring hope to the hopeless. Amen

Acts 20:24

But none of these things move me; nor do I count my life dear to myself, so that I may finish my grace with joy, and the ministry which I received from the Lord Jesus, to testify to the gospel of the grace of God.

Acts 20:24

Hope in Your Life

What moves you? What motivates you? What do you cling to in this life? Sit down and make a list of all of these things and then mark how many of them are eternal, meaning they will last forever. If you are storing up your treasures on earth in this life, you will be extremely disappointed. God is the only one who can satisfy and fill the void in man’s life. If you try to fill it with earthly things, you will continuously feel empty. But if you fill it with the things of God, the things that are eternal, you will fill your life with His living hope.

Hope is what you cling to when everything else fades away. It is the only thing that will give you purpose in this life. So begin to change your mindset and think about the things of God. You will find the hope and purpose you are looking for.

A Prayer to Remember

Dear Lord,
You are my hope. You are my purpose and motivation in this life. May the hope of the gospel radiate through my life. Amen.

Ephesians 1:6-7

So we praise God for the glorious grace he has poured out on us who belong to his dear Son. He is so rich in kindness and grace that he purchased our freedom with the blood of his Son and forgave our sins.

Ephesians 1:6-7

Grace in Your Life

One of the best things about Chrisitanity is that it is not a works-based faith. It is a grace-based faith. God sent his Son to die on the cross because of the gravity of man’s sin. Out of His deep love for man, He graciously sacrificed His beloved Son. He continues to pour out His grace every day. He is patient in waiting for people to come to know His salvation. He extends His mercy to the undeserving and offers His grace so that we can know Him and spend eternity with Him. He is rich in kindness and grace. We were in bondage to sin, yet, He sacrificed His Son to purchase our freedom.

What a reason to praise God! We praise Him because His love extends beyond the depths of our sins. He is a good God who is worthy of our continuous praise and worship. Our worship should extend from our hearts of gratitude.

A Prayer to Remember

Dear God,
Thank you Lord for your grace and mercy. Thank you for setting me free from the bondage of sin. May I praise you for the rest of my days. May my worship be pleasing to you. Amen.

1 Samuel 12:24-25

But be sure to fear the Lord and faithfully serve him. Think of all the wonderful things he has done for you. But if you continue to sin, you and your king will be swept away.

1 Samuel 12:24-25

A Faithful Servant

At the end of your life, what do you want to be said of you? Samuel’s charge told the people to be sure to continue to fear the Lord and faithfully serve Him. What does it mean to fear the Lord? It doesn’t necessarily mean to be afraid of Him, but to understand who He is and His power. Know Him as Creator and Lord of the world, but also know that He is in control. What does it mean to faithfully serve the Lord? Wake up everyday wanting to serve Him and Him only. Faithfully seek Him and no one else. Love Him first and people next. Show people your love for them through your love for the Lord.

At the end of your life, may it be said that you knew the power of the Lord and allowed Him to be in control, and that you served Him faithfully every single day of your life.

A Prayer to Remember

Dear Lord,
Thank you Lord for my relationship with you. I know that you are always in control of my life. May I be obedient to your Word and allow you to work. May I faithfully serve you in word and deed and show the world that I am a Christian! Amen.

1 Samuel 12:23

As for me, I will certainly not sin against the Lord by ending my prayers for you. And I will continue to teach you what is good and right.

1 Samuel 12:23

Never Ending Devotion

Never ending devotion- that is what describes Samuel’s life. He served the Lord and the people of Israel his entire life and when he was ready to step down from leadership, he told the people in his farewell address that he would not sin against the Lord by ending his prayers for them, but would instead continue to teach them what was good and right. Samuel continued caring for the people and praying for them long after his ministry had ended.

As Christians, we should be the same way with the unsaved world around us. We should love and care for them. We should pray for them constantly. Most importantly, we should show them we love them with our words and actions just as Samuel did.

A Prayer to Remember

Dear Lord,
May the people around me know that I care about them and pray for them with my actions and words. May there be no doubt that I care about their salvation.. Amen.

Psalm 96:1-3

Sing a new song to the Lord! Let the whole earth sing to the Lord! Sing to the Lord; praise his name. Each day proclaim the good news that he saves. Publish his glorious deeds among the nations. Tell everyone about the amazing things he does.

Psalm 96:1-3

Sing to the Lord

What a beautiful attitude this writer has! He says to sing a new song to the Lord. This represents the new life and the work that God has done in his life. He has done that for every person who chooses Him, so we must sing a new song to the Lord! He goes on to praise God’s name and the good news that He saves. His salvation is good news and cause for singing! It should bring joy to our hearts to think about the salvation He has given us and what He will do for those around us. It should make us want to tell about his glorious deeds and the amazing things He has done as it says in verse 3.

Does His salvation make you want to sing and shout for joy? If it doesn’t, it may be time to really think about what He has done for you. Read the Psalms and watch how God worked in the lives of the writers even when they went through difficult times.

A Prayer to Remember

Dear Lord,
You have saved my soul. You gave me a new song to sing just like this writer. May I always sing of your goodness and tell of your wonderful salvation. Thank you. Amen.

Acts 9:15-16

But the Lord said, “Go, for Saul is my chosen instrument to take my message to the Gentiles and to kings, as well as to the people of Israel. And I will show him how much he must suffer for my name’s sake.”

Acts 9:15-16

A Chosen Instrument

Paul was God’s chosen disciple. It is almost unthinkable to think about how God could have chosen a man like Paul, especially for those who knew His former life. Paul hated Christians and persecuted them. He was so bound by traditions and His former beliefs. When God came to him on the road to Damascus, He completely changed His life. This is because God had a plan for Paul. He was God’s chosen instrument to take the message to the world.

You are God’s chosen instrument as well. He wants you to submit to His will like Paul did so you can also serve Him and take His message to the world. It will not always be easy, but it will be so rewarding!

A Prayer to Remember

Dear Lord,
You have chosen me to be your servant. I know that you want me to submit to your will and your ways so that you can use me. May I be like Paul and carry your Word to the nations! Amen.

Deuteronomy 6:7

Repeat them again and again to your children. Talk about them when you are at home and when you are on the road, when you are going to bed and when you are getting up.

Deuteronomy 6:7

Teach Love to Your Children

Train your children in the way they should go Proverbs says. In Deuteronomy it tells us how to teach and train them! Repeat the ways of God to your children. Talk about them everywhere you go. Talk about them in your home- study the Word together. Talk about them when you are not at home- when you are on the road together, talk and sing of His goodness! Talk about them when you go to bed and night and when they wake up. Basically, talk about them all the time! That is how you teach and train your children. It is not necessarily about setting aside a time (even though that is still good), but letting His Words be on your lips all the time!

Spend some time in prayer today for your children and ask God to help you train them up in His ways every single day.

A Prayer to Remember

Dear Lord,
Thank you for my children. Help me teach and train them daily. May I be a light to my children. May your words be on my heart and lips. Amen.
