2 Corinthians 5:15

He died for everyone so that those who receive his new life will no longer live for themselves. Instead, they will live for Christ, who died and was raised for them.

2 Corinthians 5:15

Living for Him

Jesus Christ died to give us life. He died so that we might live. Through His death, we have received new life and no longer live for ourselves. Instead, we can live for Him everyday out of the love and grace He showed us on the cross.

So maybe you are wondering, How do I live for Him instead of myself? First, wake up every morning understanding that God has given you a new slate, a chance to start over again. Thank Him for what He has done and what He continues to do in your life. Next, ask Him to walk with you throughout your day and help you make choices that will glorify Him. Then, when you encounter trials or tribulations of any kind, reach out and ask for His help. He promises that you will never be alone. Come to Him in prayer often. Last, surround yourself with other believers through Bible Study and fellowship. Look for people who will encourage you in your walk with Christ.

A Prayer to Remember

Dear Lord,
You are my joy and my strength. Walk with me throughout my day and teach me how to live for you. Surround me with others who will lift me up and help me. Amen.

1 Samuel 12:24

But be sure to fear the Lord and faithfully serve him. Think of all the wonderful things he has done for you.

1 Samuel 12:24

See the Good

Sometimes in this world it can be difficult to see the good things that God has done. The news media focuses on the bad things. It’s everywhere we look- what we watch on TV, what we read, basically, what we fill with our mind. When others are complaining and describing the bad, it is easy to jump in and agree or even join in. We tend to focus on the bad more than on the good.

This verse tells us to do three things. First, fear the Lord. Know and understand that He is the creator of the world and the one who is in charge. Second, faithfully serve Him. Commit your life to serving Him and Him alone. Make Him your number one priority and tie everything in your life around Him. Third, think of all of the wonderful things He has done. Thank Him for how He has worked in your life. When you begin to feel down, look up and think about Him. If you do these things, you will begin to see the good in your life more than the bad.

A Prayer to Remember

Dear God,
You are so good. Thank you for creating me and always being in charge. May I think of you when I begin to become discouraged and may I serve you all the days of my life. Amen.

1 Thessalonians 5:11

So encourage each other and build each other up, just as you are already doing.

1 Thessalonians 5:11

Unity in Christ

Encourage one another daily. We all need each other in this life. We cannot walk through it alone. Build one another up. Meet together. Study the Word together and pray together. When the Acts 2 church did this, they saw thousands added to their numbers daily. When you begin meeting and encouraging other believers, you will see many lives changed. Trust that when you meet together, you will experience the presence of the Lord.

Encouragement brings about unity in the body of Christ, while discouragement tears it apart. Be apart of what God is doing in His church and encourage one another.

A Prayer to Remember

Dear Lord,
Help me encourage my fellow believers. Bring unity to my life, my family, my workplace, and my church. Amen.

Matthew 11:28

Then Jesus said, “Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest.

Matthew 11:28

Carry Our Burdens

Jesus longs to carry our burdens. We were never meant to carry our burdens alone. He is strong and able to carry our burdens, each and every one of them. How do we know? He took on every sin at the cross. If He can take the sins of the world on His shoulders, then he can take on our burdens.

Give your burdens to Him each day. The small ones and the ones that threaten to overtake you. Then trust that when you give Him your burdens, He will give you peace and rest. You will not have to worry anymore when you place your burdens in His hands.

A Prayer to Remember

Dear Lord,
I know you are able to take my burdens. Help me place them in your hands everyday. Amen.

Psalm 16:8

I know the Lord is always with me. I will not be shaken, for he is right beside me.

Psalm 16:8

We Will Not Be Shaken

God is always with us. He never leaves us. We can trust that when we come to know His salvation and love, we are guaranteed His presence. This is the work of the Holy Spirit inside of us. He is always there when we need Him and even when we do not think we need Him.

We can not be shaken when we have the Holy Spirit inside of us. He gives us the hope and strength we need to get through trying times. Do you trust that His presence is with you throughout the day? Do you call upon Him when you need Him? Spend some time in prayer and in His presence today.

A Prayer to Remember

Dear Lord,
I long for your presence every day. May I know you are with me and trust that I cannot be shaken. Amen.

Psalm 34:8

Taste and see that the Lord is good. Oh, the joys of those who take refuge in him!

Psalm 34:8

His Goodness and Joy

God is so good. We have heard that phrase so much in Christian songs and Christian culture, but do we really believe it. Do we really see the goodness of the Lord in every part of our lives? There is so much joy to be found when we take refuge in Him and decide to see His goodness.

If you do not know His goodness, start by reading His word and you will see the many ways He has been good to His people both in the Old Testament and the New Testament. You will begin to see the many ways He has been good to you. Take refuge in His love and experience all of the joy and goodness that He has for you!

A Prayer to Remember

Dear Lord,
Help me see your goodness everyday. Help me see how faithful you are and the many joys you have given me. Amen.

Above everything in this life, the trials and sorrows, the worries and stresses of life, we should give thanks to the Lord. He is good and does good things in our lives. When everyone else fails, He is there. When we feel alone, He is there. When we are afraid or worried, He is there. Give thanks to Him today and everyday because of everything He has done in your life! He is good and His love endures forever.

Psalm 31:24

So be strong and courageous, all you who put your hope in the Lord!

Psalm 31:24

Hope in Him

We can be strong and courageous knowing that we belong to God and we can hope in Him. He will help us through this life. The Psalmist, David, put His hope in the Lord from the time He was a little boy. He trusted that God would deliver on His promises and would always be faithful to Him. This was true throughout David’s life. Even though David sinned and failed God, God was still trustworthy. He still held David’s life in His hands. The consequences would still be there, but He could hope in the Lord.

You can hope in the Lord today. He knows what the future holds and will be with you your entire life. Trust in Him.

A Prayer to Remember

Dear Lord,
I place my hope and trust in you. I know that you have been with me and will continue to be with me. Amen.

Deuteronomy 31:6

So be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid and do not panic before them. For the Lord your God will personally go ahead of you. He will neither fail you nor abandon you.”

Deuteronomy 31:6

Be Strong and Courageous

The Lord promised to be with Joshua and the rest of the Israelites when they entered the promised land. It would not be easy since there were foreign nations already living there, so God promised that he would go ahead of them if only they would be strong and courageous. He would lead them and guide them. They would not need to be afraid because He would be with them. He would never fail them. They were strong and courageous and. God delivered on His promises.

Put your faith in God today. Be strong and courageous and know that you do not ever have to be afraid. God is with you.

A Prayer to Remember

Dear Lord,
I know that you are with me. Help me be strong and courageous every single day. Amen.

Colossians 3:15

And let the peace that comes from Christ rule in your hearts. For as members of one body you are called to live in peace. And always be thankful.

Colossians 3:15

Let Peace Rule

Let Christ’s peace rule in your hearts. Know that His peace can fix any situation, it can give perspective, and bring rest to the believer. His peace can bring about unity in the body of Christ. God has called us to live a peaceful life, in unity with other believers. When we do this, we can accomplish so much as a body of Christ. We can witness to the world when we live in peace.

Rather than fighting one another, we should always strive to live in peace and unity. Let that peace rule in our hearts so that we can better serve the Lord.

A Prayer to Remember

Dear Lord,
You are the giver of peace. You are the one who can bind us together as a body of believers. May we live together in unity. Amen.
