Psalm 150:6

Let everything that breathes sing praises to the Lord! Praise the Lord!

Psalm 150:6

Praise the Lord!

God created everything in this life to bring praises to Him. However, His prized possession was man. Man was made to worship the Lord. Romans 12:1 tells us “And so, dear brothers and sisters, I plead with you to give your bodies to God because of all he has done for you. Let them be a living and holy sacrifice—the kind he will find acceptable. This is truly the way to worship him.” Worship is more than just the words you sing. It is a lifestyle. You worship God by the way you live.

Pray and ask God today that you will be able to sing His praises each and every day. How can you live your life in such a way that brings honor and glory to the Lord? How can you praise Him everyday?

A Prayer to Remember

Dear Lord,
May I sing your praises everyday! You are so good and worthy of my praise. I want my life to be more than the words I sing. Amen.

Psalm 59:16

But as for me, I will sing about your power. Each morning I will sing with joy about your unfailing love. For you have been my refuge, a place of safety when I am in distress.

Psalm 59:16

My Refuge

The Psalmist, David, feels the joy of the Lord deep in His soul. Everything he says and does is for the glory of God. He understands God’s love and protection. When he was on the run from King Saul, he had to seek refuge. He found that refuge in God alone. God was his place of safety when he was in distress. Because of that, God blessed him.

Is God your refuge and place of safety? Do you know His power and His unfailing love. Does it bring you joy to sing of His greatness? If you do not know Him in this way, then pray and ask Him to draw you closer so you can find refuge in Him.

A Prayer to Remember

Dear Lord,
You are my refuge. You are my love. You are my strength. You are everything to me. Amen.

1 Thessalonians 5:6

So be on your guard, not asleep like the others. Stay alert and be clear headed.

1 Thessalonians 5:6

Be on Guard

We need to be on guard against the enemy’s attacks. Stay alert and be clear headed as this verse states. We should not be asleep like some are, but instead be ever so awake, ready to take up the armor of God (Ephesians 6) if needed. The world is asleep. They cannot recognize sin because they do not know God. If we know Him, we will be ready and awake against His attacks.

Spend time in prayer and Bible study everyday so you can prepare your heart and mind. If you do this, you will grow closer to the Lord and will be able to see when the enemy is attacking.

A Prayer to Remember

Dear Lord,
May I be on guard and watchful. Help me to stay alert and keep my mind clear so I can better serve you. Amen.

Psalm 5:3

Listen to my voice in the morning, Lord. Each morning I bring my requests to you and wait expectantly.

Psalm 5:3

Awake in the Morning

This verse is a good reminder of how we should live our lives. Wake up every morning and bring your requests before the Lord. Wait on Him and trust that He shall work. His ways are not our ways, so we must trust that He knows best. He is trustworthy and works even when we cannot see His work.

Get up in the morning. Before your feet hit the ground, seek His face and bring your requests to Him knowing that He will do a work. Then, it says to wait expectantly. Wait on Him. Wait, even if that is not your timing. He may not work as fast as you want Him to, but He will work. You can trust Him in that.

A Prayer to Remember

Dear Lord,
I know you are doing a work in me. Help me wait patiently and expectantly for you. Amen.

Psalm 100:5

For the Lord is good. His unfailing love continues forever, and his faithfulness continues to each generation.

Psalm 100:5

From Generation to Generation

God is good and his love is never failing. His faithfulness reaches every generation. What a beautiful truth we have in Him. This is a truth that has been given over and over again to each generation. My grandfather believed these truths and passed them to my father, and my father passed them to me. He believed that God, in His goodness, had a plan for His life. He taught me about the Father’s love and faithfulness. In my life, I have never known the Lord to be unfaithful. It is not in His nature. He loves His people and is faithful to them.

If we believe these truths about God, then we must teach them to others. We must allow them to live on to the next generation. Tell of His goodness, His unfailing love, and His faithfulness to your children, your family, your loved ones, your friends, and coworkers. Shout it from the rooftops!

A Prayer to Remember

Dear Lord,
You are good. You have always been loving and faithful to me. I believe in your truths. Help me teach them to my loved ones. Amen.

Psalm 25:6

Remember, O Lord, your compassion and unfailing love, which you have shown from long ages past.

Psalm 25:6

His Compassionate Love

God has been around longer than man. He was here when the world began. He gave the world a beginning. He breathed life into man’s lungs. He showed compassion and unfailing love when Adam and Eve sinned in the garden. Throughout the Old Testament He showed compassion time and time again. Even though David sinned and offended God with His deliberate actions, he found grace and forgiveness in the compassionate love of God. God then called Him a man after His own heart. Then, He displayed compassion and His unfailing love when He sent Jesus to die on a cross for our sins.

He can show you that same compassion and unfailing love. Do you believe that? If you pray and ask Him to, He will show you His compassionate love every single day for the rest of your life.

A Prayer to Remember

Dear Lord,
You are compassionate and loving. Your grace is abounding and your mercy never ends. Thank you for rescuing me, a sinner. Amen.

Proverbs 21:21

Whoever pursues righteousness and unfailing love will find life, righteousness, and honor.

Proverbs 21:21

Pursue God

As Christians, we should always pursue righteousness. The honor and glorification of God should be at the center of everything we do. When we pursue His righteousness and unfailing love, this verse says that we will find life, righteousness, and honor. So by seeking those things of God, we will find them in ourselves. If we seek His righteousness, we will in turn be righteous and long for righteousness. If we seek His unfailing love, we will find life because we will know how to show kindness and love toward others. We will find honor when we lead a righteous and loving lifestyle.

These things should persuade us to always seek them out in all we do. When we are with others we should seek these things. When we are alone with God we should seek them as well. In all we do, we should seek the One who gives us life, righteousness, and honor.

A Prayer to Remember

Dear Lord,
You are righteous and holy. Your love never fails me. May I always find your love. Thank you for benign everything to me. Amen.

Psalm 86:11

Teach me your ways, O Lord, that I may live according to your truth! Grant me purity of heart, so that I may honor you.

Psalm 86:11

Teach Me Your Ways

Christianity has proven itself to be true over and over again. One of the ways is through the lives of God’s people. The more they learn about who He is, the closer they become to the Lord. He works through His people, so when they turn toward Him and seek Him, then He will work miracles in their lives. This is the evidence that people look for.

When you turn to the Lord, you will see Him do many things. Through Bible study on your own and with others, you will learn who He is, how He works, and why He does what He does. You will get to know His heart when you draw near to Him. Spend some time praying today that He will teach you and guide you.

A Prayer to Remember

Dear Lord,
You are the teacher and instructor in this life. Draw me near to you so I can learn more about who you are. Amen.

Isaiah 38:3

Remember, O Lord, how I have always been faithful to you and have served you single-mindedly, always doing what pleases you. Then he broke down and wept bitterly.

Isaiah 38:3

Live for You

Isaiah was a prophet who told of the coming birth of the Messiah. He was a prophet in a time of desolation when the people were rebelling against God. Yet, He says in this verse that he had remained faithful to God and was a trustworthy servant. He lived to please the Lord. Everything he did was for the Lord and His will. He lived with the promise and hope of the Savior.

How about you? Do you live with the hope of the Savior? We live on this side of the Messiah, yet many times we live for ourselves instead of the Lord. Spend some time in prayer today, seeking the Lord and His promises.

A Prayer to Remember

Dear Lord,
May I live for you each and every day. May I please you in all I do. Amen.

Job 6:14

One should be kind to a fainting friend, but you accuse me without any fear of the Almighty.

Job 6:14

A Kind Friend

Job knew sorrow. He had everything taken away from Him. He grieved; yet, He did not falter or lose His faith. He proved to be a man of God. His “friends” came to criticize him and try to convince him that he had a lack of faith. They were not friends at all. They had their own righteousness and selfishness in mind. They did not have Job’s best interest in mind. A true friend sits with you after you get a terrible diagnosis. They call you for no reason, just to chat. They go before the throne of God on your behalf. A godly friend is one who prays for your faith.

Job says in this verse to be kind to a fainting friend. He was that fainting friend and understood the need for this. Are you the fainting friend? Maybe you know a fainting friend who needs encouragement and prayer. Pray to God that you can be a friend to those around you.

A Prayer to Remember

Dear Lord,
I have been that fainting friend before. May I be that friend to someone else. Lord, I want to show the kindness to others that you have shown to me. Amen.
