Song of Solomon

Love poetry, in the middle of scripture, unembarrassed. It is here because desire and delight are part of what God made, and the Bible declines to pretend otherwise. The readings here come from the back half of it, where love is called as strong as death and the poem says that no amount of water will put it out.
