He is the atoning sacrifice for our sins, and not only for ours but also for the sins of the whole world.

Big Enough to Include You
Jesus’ sacrifice is big enough for the whole world. John tells that to the people he calls his dear children, after reminding them that if they do sin, they have someone who speaks to the Father for them, Jesus Christ, the Righteous One.
Many Christians believe it about the world and still keep one thing outside it. It’s the memory that returns at night, the thing confessed long ago and never quite set down.
If his sacrifice is big enough for the whole world, it is big enough for that. You can bring it to him and leave it with him.
A Prayer to Remember
Father, you know the thing I keep going back to. I’m bringing it to you now. Thank you that Jesus’ sacrifice covers it, too.
