Verse of the Day

John 11:25-26

Jesus told her, “I am the resurrection and the life. Anyone who believes in me will live, even after dying. Everyone who lives in me and believes in me will never ever die. Do you believe this, Martha?”

John 11:25-26

Your Life

A good friend of Jesus named Lazareth had just died. Jesus went to see his sisters, Mary and Martha to comfort and console them. When He got there, Martha clung to Jesus and told Him that if He had only been there, then their brother wouldn’t have died. However, Jesus knew something that Martha didn’t understand. He was the giver of life. Anyone who believes in Jesus Christ will find life. True life in Him and with Him. Martha could only see the temporary, carnal world. Jesus could see eternity.

Do you see as Martha sees, only the here and now? Or do you trust the Lord to be your life? He brings life through His resurrected life. If we find our life in Him and believe in Him, we will find eternal life. We will be able to fix our eyes on Him and all things eternal.

A Prayer to Remember

Dear Lord,
May I find my life in you. Help me focus on what is everlasting and eternal, not on what is temporary and in front of me. Amen

Today’s Truth: Hope can be resurrected.

Your situation isn’t too far gone for God. Your hope can be resurrected.

In their fright the women bowed down with their faces to the ground, but the men said to them, “Why do you look for the living among the dead? – Luke 24:5

These women went back to the tomb where Jesus had been buried. They were looking back at what had been. The angel asked them why were you looking for the living among the dead. The angel was telling them that even though their hope (Jesus) was once dead, it had now been resurrected. They didn’t have to keep looking for it in the place of death. In the same way, our hope can be resurrected, if we put it in Jesus.

Hope is important as it is the motivation for you to reach your God given dreams. Always remember that your situation isn’t too hopeless for a resurrection. Your dream isn’t too far off for Jesus to help bring it to pass in your life. If you choose to keep hope alive, your situation is never too hopeless. If you trust in God and lean on Him as the source of your hope, you’ll never be disappointed and never be without true hope.

John 3:16-18

“For this is how God loved the world: He gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life. God sent his Son into the world not to judge the world, but to save the world through him. “There is no judgment against anyone who believes in him. But anyone who does not believe in him has already been judged for not believing in God’s one and only Son.

John 3:16-18

No Condemnation

God loved the world. He loved us before the world began, He created the world, and as He watches the world continues on. He has shown us how much He loves us by sacrificing His own Son. He gave up His beloved Son so that we might live. He didn’t send His Son to condemn the world but save it. The best part is that because of Son’s sacrifice, there is now no judgment against us. However, those who do not believe have already been judged and will receive eternal judgment.

He has shown us how much He loves us and continues to show us every single day. Every sunrise, every new day, every answered prayer is a sign of how much He loves us.

A Prayer to Remember

Dear Lord,
Thank you for your everlasting love. Your love conquers all, saves all, cares for all, and never fails. Your love is unending. Amen

Today’s Truth: Takes Time Alone With God

Proverbs 20:27 – The spirit of a man is the lamp of the lord searching all the inner depths of his heart

God wants to reveal things to you about your future. However, God isn’t going to show you those things using Snapchat, Musical.ly, Instagram or any other social media platform, but wouldn’t it be nice if he did? God reveals things to you in your spirit. And it’s not complicated: to hear God you’ve got to get quiet and listen. That’s hard sometimes, social media is way more fun than reading your Bible and prayer. However, God wants to talk to you and reveal things to you. You’ve just got to get quiet to listen to your spirit.

John 1:12-13

But to all who believed him and accepted him, he gave the right to become children of God. They are reborn—not with a physical birth resulting from human passion or plan, but a birth that comes from God.

John 1:12-13

Reborn

What an amazing proclamation! He has made anyone who has come to know Him sons and daughters, children of God! The physical birth of a newborn baby is a beautiful experience of life. We prepare for the birth of a child for many months and then when it finally happens, we celebrate and throw a big party! We give gifts and offer wisdom and encouragement for the coming year. However, what about when someone is reborn? When someone experiences the new life that Christ gives, do we throw a celebration and offer wisdom. The second birth, or the spiritual birth, is even more special than the first. Just like the first birth, the physical birth brings a child into a family, so the second birth. When someone accepts the saving grace of Christ, they become a part of a new family, the family of God.

Have you experienced the new birth and become a part of the family of God? If not, do not waste another day before becoming part of God’s family. If you are part of His family, then spread the good news so others will also want to join His family!

A Prayer to Remember

Dear Lord,
Thank you for redeeming and saving me. I am now a part of your family. Lord, thank you for giving me new life and a new home. Amen

Today’s Truth: Stress is rooted in fear.

Perhaps you’re stressed out about homework. If you’re honest, are you fearful that you don’t understand it, or that you won’t get it done in the time you have to do it each night?

Maybe relationships stress you out. Deep down, you’re afraid you won’t be accepted or that you’ll miss out on something really fun.

If we’re not careful, the stress of life will keep us from really enjoying those blessings God puts around us. So today, if the newness of school has worn off and you’re starting to feel stress, remember stress isn’t of God. God hasn’t given us a spirit of fear, but rather of power, love, and a sound mind!

Verse of the Day

Romans 1:16

For I am not ashamed of this Good News about Christ. It is the power of God at work, saving everyone who believes—the Jew first and also the Gentile.

Romans 1:16

Not Ashamed

The gospel is good news. It is good news because God took what was wrong and difficult, and made it good and right for believers. The cross seemed so wrong. Why would God allow His Son to die that way? At the time of His death, His family and followers probably did not see it as good news. However, God showed His power through Jesus when He was resurrected. This became good news. Jesus was the sacrifice, the lamb slain for the sins of man, and was raised to life, new life.

This good news is ours if we choose to believe and accept His gift of sacrifice. At the moment of salvation, He gives us His Holy Spirit living and breathing inside of us. So that same power that raised Jesus from the dead, is active inside of us. That is good news!

A Prayer to Remember

Dear Lord,
Thank you for your gift of salvation. Help me remember that your power lives inside of me. Lead me and guide me as I walk throughout this life. Thank you for the good news. Amen

Today’s Truth: True happiness isn’t found in things.

True happiness isn’t found in having something, doing something or being something. Being happy is a choice. Everyday you have to choose if you’re going to let problems and the stressful situations you face get you down. If you wait until all your problems and stress go away to be happy, you’ll be waiting a long time.

In the midst of the stresses and problems facing you, you can choose to enjoy your life. Just like you can set the alarm clock on your phone to get up in the morning for school, you can choose to set your attitude everyday.

Happiness is a choice. You choose everyday if you’re going to let the worries, problems and junk from your day get you down. Determine that you’re going to decide to be happy no matter what is going on around you. You’ll find that you’ll quickly start enjoying life more!

Philippians 4:6

Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.

Philippians 4:6

Praying to the God of New Beginnings

What do you think of when you think of this coming year? Does it stress you out thinking of everything that you went through last year? Do you have anxiety, not knowing what the next year and the future will bring? More than anything, God wants a relationship with you this year. Not just the type of relationship that you only invest in once a week or just on holidays, but every moment of every day. God is a God who cares for His people. He loves them and listens to them. Just like a parent cares for a child and listens to their requests, no matter how crazy or bizarre they may seem. Parents make decisions for their children because they know what is best for them; God is the same way. He knows what is best for His children, and He can be trusted with our lives.

So this year, invest in your relationship with Him. Bring your requests before Him. Talk to Him daily in prayer, thanksgiving, and supplication. He will always answer. It may not always be the exact answer you want, but you can be sure that He will never leave you or forsake you.

A Prayer to Remember

Dear Lord,
Help me grow in my relationship with you. You are a caring and loving God. Thank you for always walking with me year after year. Amen.

Daily Truth: Finding Your Strength

Do you ever feel weak and weary? 2020 has been a year that has brought isolation and loneliness, chaos, sorrow, and exhaustion. There have been times when Christians have had to be creative to come together and worship. Families have had to give up meeting together, and people have had to change routines. Hope has been hard to find, and joy has been few and far between. But as Christians, our hope and joy comes from the Lord.

Isaiah 40 describes the strength of the Lord and how He helps the weak. He is not like us. He never grows weary or tired. He gives strength to the weary and power to the powerless. He is not looking for those who think they can do everything on their own strength, but instead, He is looking for the broken. Verse 31 says, “But those who trust in the Lord will find new strength. They will soar high on wings like eagles. They will run and not grow weary. They will walk and not faint.” There is strength in trusting in the Lord! This verse says it is a “new” strength. When you trust in the Lord, you will find a new strength that you’ve never had before. Only His strength can fulfill us, change us, and sustain us.

So this year, find your strength in the Lord and trust that He will sustain you. Know that if you put your hope in Him, you will soar on wings like eagles, run and not grow weary, walk and not faint. He will be your strength. Trust in Him for the first time if you’ve never trusted before. Return to Him if you’ve been trying to do it on your own. This is the perfect year to begin anew.
